THE VALLEY OF BUTTERFLIES (PETALOUDES 28km from Rhodes town) A valley, stocked by pine and storax trees, loaded with brown-red butterflies (a moth of panaxia  quadripunktaria) from mid June to September. A pride of nature with narrow rock walkways, lakes decorated by water-lilies, rustic bridges, running waters and resting places. A smell of retsina spreads around all the way to the top of the valley together with a fresh caress of the aura.
